Nora was the widow of Vince Hawk, an employee of the East TN Light and Power Co. who dug ditches at $18 per week. While at work on July 2, Vince became overheated and overworked, which caused him to be stricken with apoplexy and died the next day. Plaintiff suing for Workmen's Compensation for herself and their 18 month old child. |

Mrs. Kinkead sued for $2,600 damages & to recover Workmen's Compensation benefits. B. H. Kinkead, Sr. employed by defendant as a watchman. He was killed by fellow employee Bill Sanders during an argument between them. Defendant denied claim on grounds that Kinkead's death was unrelated to his employment with them. 2 folders. |

Penley was employed at the pulp plant to prepare logs for the chopping machine. While he was shouldering a log, his foot slipped and the log fell on him. The accident severely injured him. Testimony was that in lifting the log, "he tore his entrails loose." Meade was sued for compensation. |

Case file notes that the defendant is engaged in the business of making books, magazines, and periodicals. Case file further notes that plaintiff worked 6 days and earned $23.94 per week doing manual labor. |
