Bridgman sued Rogers & 10 more, some who legislature appointed to organize & fix county seat for newly created Sequatchie County (formed from parts of Bledsoe & Marion), others justices/officers of County, asking activity re organizing county be enjoined, arguing that such action violated the state constitution. Bridgman claimed legislature did an end run around constitution by first taking parts of Bledsoe & Marion & attaching them to Hamilton, then creating the new county out of those parts. |
