Gamble had sold to Everett in 1862 a tract of 165 acres, part of the old Lowry Farm, for $2325. Everett paid him $725 in Confederate currency, which he had no problem with, and issued 2 promissory notes of $800 and $700 to be paid in current funds. Later, Everett offered to pay Gamble $1000 in Confederate currency to which Everett refused due to its depreciating value. Gamble suing for purchase money in good notes for the land he sold to Everett. |

This is a land dispute regarding the conveyance of land from Henry Buren to Nancy Buren as well as the matter of collected rent from said land. The casefile notes that Henry Buren owned land and twenty slaves but was severely financially affected by the war. |
