View Entry | 1937 | Hobart Johnson v. City of Alcoa | Blount | Damages |
Sixteen year old Frank Johnson suffered a broken neck after diving into a swimming pool operated by the City of Alcoa. Hobart Johnson, as his representative, sued the city for $15,000 in damages. The pool was constructed over a natural stream or other water source, the water piped in from the uphill side, & drained out of the other. Good description of pool area construction. Good study for early 20th century municipal leisure space, & use research. |
