Beers, driving recklessly, struck J. D. Bryant, a minor, on a street in Alcoa. The boy was standing at a street corner when Beers ran over him. He suffered great injury and mental anguish, and was permanently disabled. The Bryants sued Beers for ten thousand dollars.
