Henry claims that Clack, Samuel Ghormely, J. G. Wallace, and John E. Toole are indebted to him for $20,000. However, the four men absconded and left behind a considerable amount of property--before Henry could obtain a judgment on trespass.

View Entry 1932 Newton Koontz, admr. v. C. V. Fleming Blount Damages for Wrongful Death

Koontz was the administrator of the late James Koontz, killed by an automobile driven by Fleming. Koontz had been riding in a mail truck when he and the post carrier stopped to give assistance to a wrecked driver. Fleming, said to be driving recklessly, fatally injured Koontz, who was survived by wife Tobitha and children Daisy Kiser, Lucy Phillips, Birt Koontz, Elmer Koontz, Lamer Koontz, and plaintiff Newton Koontz. Damages were asked to recover death-related costs incurred by the family.

View Entry 1846 Samuel Henry v. Hugh H. Henry Blount Contract Dispute and Damages

Transcript begins on page 7. Involves a disputed debt to the firm of H. H. Henry (Hugh Henry). They seem especially interested in whether a gallon of whisky was delivered before or after the firm's dissolution. Lists names of debtors and names of family members Margaret Henry and John Henry. Document still very sooty after surface cleaning. See also ET 1151.
