D. N. Broyles & his wife Rosa Lee sued Sam Lambert & Sam Johnson (trustee) after Broyles and Lambert purchased land together, each taking half, so they could build a swimming pool. The costs of building the pool mounted, & they borrowed money from Clifford Brown to complete construction. Johnson then advertised Johnson's portion of the property was for sale, however at that point Broyles & Johnston were not in agreement as to whether or not their joint debt was settled. 7 folders. |

Gamble had sold to Everett in 1862 a tract of 165 acres, part of the old Lowry Farm, for $2325. Everett paid him $725 in Confederate currency, which he had no problem with, and issued 2 promissory notes of $800 and $700 to be paid in current funds. Later, Everett offered to pay Gamble $1000 in Confederate currency to which Everett refused due to its depreciating value. Gamble suing for purchase money in good notes for the land he sold to Everett. |

Thomas Berry died indebted to McGhee, but owned valuable land in Blount County. The debt was sued upon several times, & the estate was settled. Montgomery & Edward Lynch worked together to sell the land, but the sale may have cheated McGhee out of recovering the debt. However, the court ruled that Lynch was right in selling the land & that Berry had not been cheated. |

Samuel Orr, father of the plaintiff's wife Margaret, died as the owner of 140 acres of land and was indebted to the defendant in the sum of $30. The defendant reported that a portion of the land would have to be conveyed to him to settle the debt, but the plaintiff Margaret claims she was ignorant of the proper ways to convey or deed land. After she wed the plaintiff, she heard rumors that the defendant conned her into deeded a larger amount of the land than owed and her husband confirmed it later. |

Parham charged that John and George deeded the house and lot to Julia in order to prevent him from collecting his note. Parham charged that the deed was fraudulently and void and for the house and lot be attached for payment of debt. |
