Gamble had sold to Everett in 1862 a tract of 165 acres, part of the old Lowry Farm, for $2325. Everett paid him $725 in Confederate currency, which he had no problem with, and issued 2 promissory notes of $800 and $700 to be paid in current funds. Later, Everett offered to pay Gamble $1000 in Confederate currency to which Everett refused due to its depreciating value. Gamble suing for purchase money in good notes for the land he sold to Everett. |

Additional defendants: Julia Ann Catherine Brown and George A. Brown. John and George Brown bought a house and lot from Henderson McKinney for $725. All but a $300 note of the purchase money was paid. Said note was assigned to Parham by McKinney. Parham charged that John and George deeded the house and lot to Julia in order to prevent him from collecting his note. Parham charged that the deed was fraudulently and void and for the house and lot be attached for payment of debt. |
