Herman Reynolds is accused of having sexual relations with Willie Ammon Haun, aged 18 at the time of the incidents. However, the two were married nine months before the incident. Haun became pregnant, and though initially living with Reynolds and his mother, she moved back in with her father. Reynolds does not acknowledge the child through effort or payment. Oddly this case is not about bastardy, but age of consent violation.
