Def. is the owner and operator of a small grist (corn mill) located in the 7th Civil District of Blount County. Said mill is powered by a Fordson Tractor. Pla. claims he was instructed by the Def. to crank the tractor in order to place the motor in operation. When Pla. attempted to turn the crank, the tractor threw the crank and severely injured the Pla. Pla. states that the Def. did not warn him of potential dangers. |

In 1937 Kidd bought a Plymouth from Condry on credit. Kidd traded in a Chevrolet sedan for the new car as down payment. Condry repossessed the Plymouth, but did not refund any money to Kidd. Condry was ordered to pay Kidd $600 but Condry appealed. 2 folders. |

Cagley killed Daniel Ratliff after they spent time together with some other men in a saloon. This trial was used to further the temperance cause, blaming alcohol for the men's behavior. Jack West, Cagley's step son was also injured. Circuit court jury sentenced him to 15 years in the state penitentiary. |

Erskin died; Robert Wear appointed his admr. Erskin had 3 notes against def. Kerr, upon which Robert obtained judgment but, before judgment paid, Robert died. Boyle replaced Robert & tried to enforce the judgments, but justice of the peace Edmund Wayman then allowed Kerr to produce (& offset) old 1838 accounts he held against E.H., all without notice to Boyle, compromising his ability to appeal. Boyle believes the offset was improper & barred by the statute of limitations. Witness: James M. Greenway. |
