Plaintiffs are merchants in the town of Woodbury, Tennessee. Plaintiffs claim that on the night of April 18, 1890 their store was broken into and several items were stolen. After the burglary, the plaintiffs published a notice in the newspaper advertising a reward for the capture of the perpetrator. Plaintiffs later learned that B. Stewart was responsible for said theft after observing him in possession of the stolen goods. Plaintiffs complain that the def. is now unlawfully claiming said reward. |
