There was an argument at a picnic in McLemoresville. Juel Bell was "afflicted on his right side." He had his hand in his pocket, around a closed knife. T. Foster shot Bell in the back and killed him. The dispute is self-defense, def. state Bell had knife The Memorandum for the State states that the witnesses for the victim were impartial, while Bunk Foster is not reliable. The defendant was indicted in June, 1917 in the circuit court of Carroll County for unlawfully, wilfully and maliciously deserting and abandoning his wife Odus Parker. He left her without any support and abandonned her without cause or excuse on her part.
