Lamott, surviving partner of the firm Calhoun & Lamott, sued defendants for $20,000 debt.

Wilson McMahan had sold and delivered to defendants 2700 pounds of beef. Defendants promised to pay 15 cents per pound but did not pay McMahan in his lifetime nor Netherton, despite many requests, to the plaintiff's damage $500.

This suit was originally brought by the defendant in error against the plaintiff in error to recover debt due from the purchase of furniture on an installment plan. When he became unable to pay, the plaintiff notified the defendant who then repossessed and sold said furniture. There is a questions as to whether or not the plaintiff waived his right to have the furniture sold at public auction as provided by law.

Baxton sued McKinney [alt. spelling McKinna] and Weavn for not paying for a rifle.

Incomplete casefile. John D. Smith was the executor of John Maloy dec'd. The plaintiff received a prior judgment against the defendants. The defendants were forced to sell land in order to settle the debt awarded to the plaintiff. Plaintiff purchased the land using credit from the judgment awarded to him. Ownership of the land was then questioned. See additional documents in box ET 6, ET 788.

The plaintiff was granted judgment in a previous case to collect a certain amount of funds to cover a debt to him by the defendant. The defendant never followed through with the judgment and a second case has been brought to the court.

Barnes was on bond for Arthur Woody, who was recently found guilty of larceny. He and his wife gave Deputy Lee Woody money to catch and bring back Arthur Woody. They promised $25 if he was successful in apprehending Arthur. Arthur spent much of the money & said there were other expenses for the trip he needed covered.

Stuart sued Birdseye & Hazen over a writing obligatory that Stuart claims they executed and under which they owed him $200, which claim Birdseye & Hazen disputed. At one point, it was suggested Stuart had died, but his attorney disputed that claim, after which a jury was assembled to determine whether or not Stuart had died. Oversized pages.

Faubion indebted to plaintiff for goods delivered. Faubion died leaving defs as admr. of his estate. Add. Plaintiff Francis McFur, db with Clark as Clark McFur & Co. (original pla.). McFur died during litigation & suit continued in name of Clark (later died). Two mistrials, many continuances.Case asks if pl. not really prosecuting suit but others (including George W. Carter) doing so per secret arrangement with plaintiff.

Cause of action was listed as "debt due by account under $100" William Brooks, administrator of Joel Brooks, deceased claimed that the railroad company owed the estate $80.
