Davidson rented Armstrong's farm from his agent, Maupin in 1871 with bank notes, and ended the year indebted to Maupin. Davidson was ordered to pay the debt with livestock, and farm equipment, and after 20 days Maupin could sell it at public auction. See Add'l documentation in box MT 269. |

A road was to be built on a long standing public easement through a portion of land belonging to Hensley. It was found that the easement was not actually on Hensley's land, but on Harrison Wilkinson's land. Suit seeks to prevent land owners from obstructing the easement, or the construction of the road. Although filed with East, TN cases, this is a Middle, TN case. |

In April of 1872 an execution for $46+costs was paid by John Price against Moore, in Lynch's favor. The execution was passed to different constables in different counties in an attempt to collect the amount. Lynch & Moore had a history of being indebted to one another. |

In 1843 land belongong to Thomas Patton, then deceased, was sold to an ancestor of Stephens. Martin the obtained a decree in chancery court against Patton's estate, for $370 which was declared a lien on the land that had been purchased by Martin. The property ownership & settement of the debts were sought during this suit. |

The road obstructed led from Floyds to the McMinnville and Shelbyville Road. The obstruction consisted of logs and timbers laid across the road. Defendant claimed it was a private not a public road. The defendant used the road for hauling out timber and corn from that portion of his land up the hollow, and claimed he was the owner of the land upon which the road was built. |

Governor William G. Brownlow introduced and pass the Act of 1868, Chapter 65. Under the new law D.W. Tucker was appointed Tax Collector. He was charged with negligently collecting taxes, failing to collect $1661 the County was owed. |
