W. L. Donegan was distilling brandy at an apple cider still for Stewart, under a contract wherein each would get half of the brandy produced. Jordan was to pay the government tax on the brandy production. Apparently Donegan was not able to produce brandy that was worth drinking. Jordan had already paid the tax amount and sued to recover the money. |

This was an action brought by the plaintiff to recover damages for injuries sustained due to the negligence of the defendant. Plaintiff was employed by the defendant to operate a drum saw at their Stave factory near Charlotte, Tennessee. Pla. was severely injured when his arms were caught in a series of belts and pulleys. Plaintiff complained that the accident occurred because the defendant failed to build a partition between the drum saw and the "equalizer." |

Lien was retained for payment of purchase money. Harris had sold and conveyed the lands to Ramsey. Plaintiffs sought to enforce his lien on land and sell them and use proceeds to satisfy debt. |

Guin had agreed to pay the money, then filed a cross bill alleging that in making the sale to him, they practiced fraud.
