Sellars sought the value of the boots in damages. |

Addtl dfnt: C. J. Morgan, Sherriff of Grainger County. In a hostile post-Civil War atmosphere Derault sought a robbery suit against pltf, a former Confederate soldier. To avoid a trial and maintain personal safety, Cleveland paid a note to Derault. Years later Derault sued on the note. That suit resulted in fi fa of Cleveland's property. Cleveland sued for injunction against fi fa and ruling of Derault's suit on the note. |

Samuel Lowe died when only child Abner was 5 months old, leaving Abner an orphan (his mother predeceased Samuel) who was raised by his grandmother, Mrs. Anna Hawkins. When he became older, he filed this suit to determine what became of his inheritance. Samuel died owning a 153-acre farm in Monroe County on Fork Creek, & Abner believed his grandfather Abner & uncle Abraham were appointed administrators of Samuel's estate, but estate never settled & courthouse records burned in fire. |

Plaintiff, daughter of def.. & his wife, Palestine Popejoy. By agreement plaintiff & her mother were named the beneficiaries of a $1700 life insurance policy purchased by N. Popejoy in 1924; they also paid the premiums. Mrs. Popejoy died May 1929. Plaintiff continued to pay premiums after mother's death, but has since learned that ca. 24 Nov. 1934 the deft. made an Ann Johnson the beneficiary instead of herself. Plaintiff now suing to recover the money spent on the insurance premiums. |

B. Seahorn and W.G. Seahorn were married, and the defendant was prone to getting into debt during their marriage, so most of their means was provided by her father, James Clark. Plaintiff was bequeathed five Negro workers, who were sold by the defendant, the profits from which went to paying his debts. Later during the marriage, the defendant began to beat the plaintiff, both with his fists and clubs, and treat her in an inhumane fashion. This bill is a motion for divorce and alimony. |

Charlie Spoon fired two shots at Roy Helton killing him. The incident occurred outside of Helton's restaurant and filling station. Although Spoon had a gun, Helton had only a glass Coca Cola bottle. Spoon was obviously drunk and swearing at Helton. Witnesses testified that the Coca Cola bottle could have been used as a weapon, and was a threat to Spoon's life. |

Collins'daughter was near her father's lumber camp in 1836 and she heard someone nearby cutting down trees. She found Joseph Collins cutting down a chestnut tree next to his ox and cart. Lathim claimed that Collins had agreed with him that Lathim was allowed to forrest and remove timber from the property, but had not written record of the agreement. |

Contract also stipulated how the expenses of cultivating the crops would be divided between them. Defendant abided by the contract until 1 June when he drove plaintiff off of his land with an ax. Plaintiff suing for $1500 damages caused by defendant's breach of contract. |

Grove now deceased; Lewis & Garrett administer his estate. Lathim & Mayse's heirs brought suit against plaintiffs without their knowledge & won a judgment of $3371.60 plus $2.15 costs against them. Plaintiffs seek an injunction as they are unable to pay the judgment. They also argue that Grove's estate should be included in the lawsuit. |
