A jury convicted Polly, a 12-year-old girl, of assault & battery against Sarah Taylor, described as "a small girl." John Goins was also charged but the jury found him not guilty. Witnesses: Sarah & William Taylor. Court then discharged Polly, finding she was legally incapable of committing the crime because she was under 14, despite evidence that she knew right from wrong & that she acted in revenge against Sally. |
