Suit over price of horse Francisco & Miller took from Morol. Suit dismissed as to Miller's estate; jury ruled in favor of Morol's estate, awarding $210 to be paid by Francisco's estate. Testimony: Morol objected when horse was taken, as it was only work horse he had. Horse (clay bank in color) taken by company of 5-6 home guards (including Francisco & Miller), part of Rebel army 12th Battalion of Cavalry, trying to get out of the country to avoid the Yankees. |

The plaintiff inherited a tract of land from her father, David H. Jones (dec.), and later married Spencer Suter, who immediately took possession of it. Soon after, the defendant and one Clinton A. Suter took measures to defraud the plaintiff out of her rights to the land by a deed of conveyance, making her sign it as a minor under 18 years old. Burem later took full possession of the land. Plaintiff's guardian at the time, Jacob Miller, acted in bad faith by advising her to sign the deed. |

George W. Moore's political sentiments forced him to abandon his home and family during war leaving large amount of debt. His wife, Marjaner[?], sued her husband for independent rights to home and land separate from husband and won. She now charging him with violent conduct, drunkenness, and threats to kill her. She was suing for an injunction against George selling the property as well as for a divorce and custody of the children. |

Defendant made salt at the Salt Works in Hawkins county and conducted business under the name George and Sam Powell. Defendant states contract was to be paid in salt at Confederate prices.
