Trespass on the Case, $300 damages. Bowling claimed Anderson converted Bowling's horse for Anderson's own use. Peter Lawson testified that Bowling & Elam Lawson came to Peter's house with the horse & said Bowling was buying the mare from Elam for $25. Peter (whose niece Bowling married) agreed to keep the horse for Bowling (who had no stable). Elam owed debt to Anderson, who levied upon & sold the horse to satisfy that debt, leading to this lawsuit. |

In 1885 plntffs. contracted to saw lumber for deft. at a cost of $3.50 per 1000 feet. Deft. paid plntffs. before lumber was measured, acting on their estimates, but found he had overpaid them when lumber was measured. For this reason deft. argued plntffs. owed him the amount they had been overpaid & he owed them nothing. |

It appears that the victim lived on Horn's land and had a relationship with Elise Horn, daughter of Henry and Nannie. The victim had a baby with Elise (5 years before his death) while married to another woman, causing tension between the parties. |

Plaintiff in error initially admitted to the burglary but, according to police, was under the influence of alcohol. When he became sober again, plaintiff in error denied the crime. |

Boykin wrote a letter to the plaintiff's wife requesting that she be taken to their house due to an unpleasant situation and for her health. She was supplied with food and lodging with the understanding her family would pay the plaintiffs. Also suing for damages in the sum of $500. |

The court ordered Fulkerson to take into possession all White's property and return an inventory to it. He found a heretofore unknown note that Spears and his mother Mary made to the late White. This new note was the second one listed among White's assets. Fulkerson sued for payment. Extra 34 pages added 12/15/16. |

Phipps sought to recover 25-30 thousand feet of oak and poplar lumber from O. B. Bynum. Phipps owned a portable steam saw mill and agreed to saw and stack 1 million feet of logs for Bynum, who would furnish the wood at yards on the Clay Solitude farm. A contract gave Phipps a lien on the lumber until his bill was paid, but it was never registered. Phipps sawed and stacked about 800,000 feet. Bynum took part of the lumber to raft to market, but Richardson levied it to satisfy an execution on Bynum. |
