Lewis's lands were levied for the execution and sold by sheriff to Childs who was agent to plaintiffs. Plaintiffs from loyal state whereas Childs and Lewis from TN. Question as to whether Childs lost his authority to receive redemption money from Lewis for his lands. |

Possibly is the continuation of L. C. Houk v. John I. Charramore [possible mistype of John T. Naramore] found in ET 23. Naramore had obtained judgment against Houk for $45 for borrowed money. Houk failed to be present at the trial due to a misunderstanding of the day it was to take place. Otherwise, Houk would have appealed. Houk wanted a certiorari restraining the constable from executing said judgment and for a new trial to be implemented. |

The land in question lies in Knoxville on Frouh Street between Locust and Henley streets. |

Majors to defeat her right of alimony. |

Newman et al. for the sum of $4508-$930 of which was made by promissory note. Newman rented land to Joseph King. House and lot were levied upon and sold to pay for taxes under executions from multiple suits, which Newman declared void. Newman suing the Kings for conspiring to deprive him of his land and wanted an account of the rents due him since 1861. |

2 folders. Add. defendant: The Exchange & Deposit Bank. In 1862, the plaintiff borrowed of the Bank $450 in Confederate notes and the plaintiff executed a promissory note. Later, the plaintiff's son, Joseph Alexander, borrowed from the same $1,500 for a business. While the plaintiff was sick, J. Baxter forced from him a deed of trust for property in Hamilton County. The Confederate notes were made illegal and Baxter wrongfully adjusted plaintiff's debt to a larger sum and kept the deed of trust. |

Peters charged that flour was good when bought by Powell, that it became bad while owned by defendant when it was delayed in the East Tennessee & Georgia Depot at Cleveland, TN. |
