Plaintiff sued Etheldred W. Crozier for refusing to comply with the city ordinance requiring him to lay pavement in front of his lot on the East Side of Gay Street.

View Entry 1872 F. K. Berry & S. G. Cleveland, admr. of R. R. Cleveland, dec. v. W. N. B. Jones Knox Assumpsit

Jones sued Berry and Sidney G. Cleveland for $3000. R.R. Cleveland was indebted to Jones for work and labor done for Cleveland who promised to pay him said debt, but he and defendants had failed and refused to pay the same to Jones' damage $6000. Berry and Cleveland in another suit regarding estate in the same year but against different party in Loudon County and for debt. See S. C. Simpson v. F. K. Berry & S. G. Cleveland, admrs. Of R.R. Plaintiff is sued the defendant for breaking and entering his home and ejecting him from the premises. Filed for damages in the sum of $1,000.

McBee sued Branner for debt by unpaid note of $600. Court ruled in favor of plaintiff for debt plus $216.50 damages for detention of sum.

Petition for Supersedeas. Plaintiff purchased a tract of land and sold one half to William Beuden, a free man of color, who built a small frame house on the land for he and his parents. The defendant claimed one sixth of the land as belonging to her as the heir of one Dardis dec.. Defendant demanded possession of Beuden's home and land. The land in question lies in Knoxville on Frouh Street between Locust and Henley streets.
