Cochran hit the truck containing passenger Homer Lay, colliding and causing the truck to turn over with Homer beneath it. Homer worked for B. D. Trust company was the executor of the Daniel Briscoe estate. As such, bank had remodeled and reconstructed a building known as the Bus Terminal. The company operated and leased the building which had been built in the form of an arcade. They paved the entrance with a kind of flooring that became very slick when wet. Rankin slipped and fell on the pavement, breaking her arm at the elbow. She sued to recover lost salary and medical costs and for suffering permanent physical pain and mental anguish. |

On the day of the accident Evans had allowed Doyle, a reputed bootlegger, to use the car on company business. |

Robert, Sr. owned property & bonds, & daughter & son in law Mr. & Mrs. J. H. Hines wanted to take his assets, viewing Robert, Jr. a threat. They conspired with West, & Samuel Thornburg, Esq to have Jr. arrested, then committed to the East State Hospital for the insane. Roberts sued Dr. West for $25,000 in damages. |

Monday owned the furnished Victoria and Augustine Apartments, with 96 rooms, and he leased the property to J. T. Brooks (not the plaintiff) and R. D. Clark for ten years. The leases were to pay all taxes, and keep up the property according to the agreement. Leasee did not pay taxes, accumulating fines from the county in $2000.
