On 6 Aug. 1929 their son's small dog became ill & was put down by Hill, a Humane Officer who did not remove the body for days despite repeated requests to do so. The son found the body & picked it up, becoming ill from exposure to the "poison fluids" and "putrefying flesh". His health is now permanently impaired due to the city's & Hill's negligence. |

Plaintiff, admx. of Hugh Buckner, charges Southern Railway with negligence in his death & is sued for $50,000 damages. On 2 May 1933 Buckner, an employee of the railway, was riding the company's locomotive back home from his work at the John Sevier Yards when the locomotive in which he was riding collided with a switch engine. Buckner died on 5 May 1933 of injuries sustained in the crash. Plaintiff accuses deft. of operating the locomotive negligently, thereby causing the accident. |

Defendant Hines originally sued the plaintiff for $25,000, alleging negligence in the death of William Walker. Walker, an employee of the railway, was struck & injured by a train as he was inspecting cars. He died 25 Nov. 1931. Train that struck him had not employed warning headlights or sounded a whistle.
