Plaintiff was a minor, so represented by father, James Ferguson. City had laid water pipe & had not filled in hole. Addie stepped in it while trying to cross Crozier St. (near Depot St.) & broke her arm.

The plaintiff sued for when cars owned and operated by the defendant ran over and killed three of his hogs. sued for damages in the sum of $36.

Robert Heiskell was an African American man who initially sued over a dispute at the Staub Theatre. Heiskell purchased a reserve seat at a higher rate and claimed he was owed a seat in the "colored" reserved section. He was ejected but contested his treatment. The show was called "The Devil's Auction" and was very popular. The left side of the balcony was designated "black" and the right was designated "white" with the middle designated as what ever "the majority" was for a particular show.

F. Dobson worked at a nail factory when he was 14. One of the machines malfunctioned and he sustained an eye injury that necessitated its removal. Jury assessed the damages at $2,500. 231 pages in ET1925 and is entitled Knoxville Iron Co. v. John A. Dobson, next friend of Frank A. Dobson.

Newman, of Knox County, contracted with Rodgers, of Claiborne County, to purchase from Rodgers a pension claim allegedly due to the widow of Mr. Lewis, who Rodgers said was a Revolutionary pensioner. As it turned out, Lewis was not such a pensioner.

Additional plaintiffs: J. C. Flanders and W. H. Lillard. The particulars of the case are not clear. It seems that Mabry was living on Bell’s land. Bell wanted to sell the land and Mabry would not vacate. Bell sought damages of $1,000
