Warwick started neighborhood school by subscription, Warwick to be paid varying rates to teach different subjects: spelling, reading, writing, arithmetic, English grammar, geography, natural philosophy. Schoolhouse built on Jonathan Bishop's land. Warwick taught 4 weeks, then locked out of schoolhouse, giving rise to dispute.
