Widby sued American Insurance for $1250.00 plus interest. Widby was the widow of Basil T. Widby, dec. who was killed in an accident with a Mack truck. American Insurance claims that the life insurance policy issued to Widby was in fact issued after he was killed rather than before. Therefore, American Insurance decided that Widby was not due payment. |

Plaintiffs claim Joseph maintained an insurance policy that listed them as beneficiaries. Plaintiffs complain that upon Joseph's death, Elizabeth Sneed contacted the insurance co. to withhold payment. Said company notes that Joseph had attempted to remove his nephews from the policy but did not provide the correct paperwork. Exhibit materials include insurance documents. |

Hutchinson owned property in Knox county that she commercially leased to Oscar Dunn and James Carson, whom erected buildings on the property. The lease was sold and conveyed to W. M. Fulton by Dunn and Carson, however Hutchinson was unhappy with the terms of the transfer. She believed that Fulton had created a corporation for the purpose of stripping and selling the commercial property, thereby defrauding Hutchinson. |

Plaintiffs then paid Hutchins to have her attorney investigate the title. The attorney stated that the title was good. When the plaintiffs attempted to sell a part of said property, a second title search found that Goddard did not have full title to the property. Dowler was trustee for Frank Roach and Frank H. Dowler, Jr. who operated the Bijou Theater in Knoxville. He was appointed to handle funds arising from the operation of various moving picture theaters. Denton was to pool interests of his Knoxville theaters for the purpose of increasing the buying power of films and other theatrical equipment. Denton agreed to operate the Bijou; Dowler complained that Denton did not buy the best films resulting in poor attendance. Theater reputation harmed |

The defendants refused to pay the full benefits of the policy, inflicting additional expenses and injury upon the plaintiff. Hayes [alt. spelled Haines] bought a tract of land belonging to Griffin at a sheriff's sale for $150. Hayes agreed to become co-surety with Griffin for fines and costs against his son William Griffin in exchange for Griffin releasing his equity of redemption upon said tract of land. Griffin refused to honor agreement and sought to sell land to other parties. Hayes issued an attachment and injunction suit to restrain Griffin from selling land and have Griffin deed/release his rights of redemption. |

Court ruled in favor of Strong and McIntyre, because Kinzel based his land sale details on an 1871 deed. His deed did not mention land that had been parceled off and sold separately. Since Kinzel had not paid taxes on the land for 26 years, it was encumbered with debt to the county. |

An injunction was filed to prevent the sale of the land. |

Frazier sued the defendant railroad for damages for injuries he sustained when a train overturned while he was in the employ of the company. They reached an agreement whereby Frazier released them of all liability in exchange for the railroad agreeing to pay all his medical bills to date and continuing his employment at $90 per month for five years with an $1800 advance. |
