Defendant was a delivery truck driver and a review of his delivery book allegedly found several changed entries. The def. filed a cross bill seeking damages for humiliation and damage to his reputation. Exhibit materials include delivery and accounting records. |

Burnett sued the Rose for wages owed to Lucinda Burnett (his mother) for cooking, washing, and mending for the defendant for 11 months at $3 per month in 1885 and 1886. Rose claimed that he provided Lucinda with substantial amounts of pork, soap, lard, milk, and chickens that exceeded the $33 owed to her. The circuit judge ruled that each party owed each other $33 and should split their combined court costs. |

For another case (Hugh Dowling, admr. Of James Calloway, dec. v. E.P. Cawood) Crookshanks and John W. Easley were security for Cawood. In that case, Justice ruled against Cawood for $205.70. Stinnett stayed Crookshank's note, which was never paid. Dowling had Crookshanks, Easley, and Stinnett levied to satisfy execution. Stinnett now asking for Motion for Dismiss against Crookshanks for not having agency to procur him as stayer. Court ruled in favor of defendant. Plaintiff appealed. |

In 1938, Estes Kefauver, attorney for the defendant, attempted to "dispauperize" the plaintiff for an earlier suit of the same name where the plaintiff was sued for $5,000 for injury and damages to the plaintiff. The defendant's agent tried to force her to make a bond for the costs of the suit, alleging she owned real estate valued at $1,600. But the property was encumbered by a deed to trust to one J. Mitt Payne for $1,137.48. |
