The original bill was filed in 1869 by James McAfee, guardian of Eliza and Nancy Collins, et al. In 1860 John Wood was appointed the guardian of Eliza and Nancy, et al., & gave bond. Wood became heavily indebted to the wards, never paying them back. Saw- year fraudulently sold land to his son to prevent it being levied for the debt. Suit was filed by the wards' next guardian in order to recover the debt. |

In 1867 John Washburn sold a plot of land to James M. Sorrels for $1270. At the time of the sale Moore & Thomison held a mortgage on the land, & therefore became real beneficiaries to the land sale, as mortgage holders. In the sale Moore took from Sorrels two notes from James G. Harrison, for $466 each, taken as collateral for repayment of the debt. Suit was filed to call in the debt. |

H. had died & Martha sued to recover the value of the real estate. |

The plaintiff's game consisted of a plank with a hole in it that contains a "negro head," which players attempt to hit with balls. |
