Bacon bought a farm of Dr. Harrison and executed to him two notes. Harrison traded the notes to Henry & Williams for approximately $900. Bacon claimed that S. H. Henry and J. J. Williams were in partnership in the note transaction, which Henry denied. Court sided with Bacon. Henry objected that Bacon was related to a jury member. Court convened in the Baptist church because there was no courthouse building yet. (Loudon County was not created until 1870.) |
