Over time, Columbia, TN citizens became dissatisfied with rates; after failing to secure reduction, competing company, City Telephone Co, created to get cheaper service, ultimately resulting in a rate war between the 2 companies & to filing of this suit to oust Cumberland from doing business in TN, alleging various "abuses." Cumberland winning rate wars w/all independents in the state; SC: didn't justify ouster. |
