In 1807, Winchester filed for ownershp of 300 acres that was supposed to run along property belonging to John Record. A mistake was made in the filing, naming Record as Robertson. Michael Gleaves had interest in this property, then died, leaving it to Matthew. This suit was filed to correct title to the property, and to clarify its locations and boundaries lawfully. |

Initial grants made in the NC land office for Tennessee lands allowed John Davidson to register 5000 acres in his own name, then additional land in the names of his children. He paid for & registered land in the names of his in-laws, Samuel & James Forgey w/ the idea they would transfer the land back to him later. Davidson sued to settle the proper ownership of the land. |

Nicholas died leaving his heirs, John, Richard, Joseph, Lemuel, and George, 5k acres of land altogether in Columbia. William Rutledge had squatted on a portion of the land for some time, then Green Williamson wanted to buy the plot occupied by him, but owned by the Longs. They sold 250 acres to Dooley.Within these sales, the land was further subdivided causing disputes as to land boundaries & ownershp. Case was filed to settle disputes. |
