Plaintiff claims Webb is in debt to him for $25 in "rent corn," accrued from the use of what is known as the Dower land of Sarah Webb, of which he is the owner in fee. Sarah Webb is the mother of the defendant and agreed to rent the land to the defendant to raise corn. Sarah Webb died and the plaintiff allowed the defendant to continue cultivating the crop. When the plaintiff demanded payment, the defendant refused. |

Vaughn was the sheriff who levied on Harmon's property. Def. Enos D. Shields married Hale's widow, Def. Sarah G. Shields. |
