Cause of action: fraud. Guenther and Gerding had an agreement that Gerding would assist Guenther in writing up the affairs of the Tennessee Colonization Company for $200 per year. They also agreed that Gerding would transfer his title to a parcel of land (William Staple's Mill) in exchange for Guenther dismissing suits pending between the two men. Guenther dismissed suits but Gerding did not own title to the land; Guenther sues Gerding for $10,000. |

Kidd left the liquor in a hiding place, told the buyer, the buyer took the liquor, leaving payment in the hiding place. Kidd claimed he didn't sell the liquor- he "found it" & gave it away. |

Roberson was Adkins' son-in-law. Adkins carried the mail to Jamestown. Apparently, Roberson claimed Langford owed him a debt & he prosecuted Langford for passing a counterfeit bill in order to make Langford pay the debt. |
