Marvin, the father of Elizabeth, Rowena, and Joseph, conveyed a tract of land to their mother, Nancy A. Marvin, who died shortly after. Their father in jail for murder, the plaintiffs were sued by father of minor defendants for E.R. Marvin's debt of $2059. Plaintiffs sought review of earlier decree and title to land. 2 folders. |

M. M. and J.H. Patterson, minors, sued by their guardian Pinkerton. Too many additional defendants to name. When R.C. Patterson died in 1865, he left a tract of land to plaintiffs' father Carson W. Patterson, who died in 1870. Plaintiffs charge defendant with fraudulently obtaining a deed from R.C. Patterson for the same land by undue influence and destroying his will. Plaintiffs suing for title to land. Part of case found in box MT 783 under D.T. Pinkerton et al. v. J.W. Blackburn et al. 2 folders. |

Additional defendants: Mary, Josiah, William A., Robert S., and Thomas Warner, all minor children of P. Horner and Mrs. P. Horner. Plaintiff's intestate paid a judgment, which the state recovered upon the bond of a defaulting officer, and the defendant have paid nothing and claimed to be insolvent. Plaintiff’s intestate filed the original bill against the defendants, heirs-at-law of the deceased P. Horner, a co-surety. |

Decree was obtained in previous case regarding estate of Erwin Craig, dec. A portion of his land was sold to pay for his outstanding debts. Land was not sold until Adams replaced former administrator of Craig's Estate who had passed away. Land was sold to Josiah Wilburn for $500. Reference to pending case John B. Wilburn, et al. v. Josiah Wilburn, et al. in MT 811 in regard to Josiah being declared having an unsound mind. Adams suing Alexander to recover land and rents for heirs of Josiah Wilburn. |

There are too many additional plaintiffs to name. Additional defendants: Ashby widow of Preston Ashby, C.T. Bazzel and wife Rosaline. Preston Ashby had made mortgage on a steam saw and grist mill located on Blackburn's property. Ashby, a mechanic, promised to pay plaintiffs back the $925 they advanced to him to run his business. Ashby was killed by the machinery. Plaintiffs charge that they have right to receiver to manage mill and to foreclose mortgage and sell mill to pay their debts. |

Additional defendants unknown. Plaintiff purchased an undivided interest in the land of J. L. Morris. Plaintiff now claims there is a cloud on the title of the land caused by a judgment rendered in a previous case. Defendant procured warrants on notes against J. L. Morris and attempted to levy against the property now owned by plaintiff. Plaintiff is seeking to have said cloud removed. |

John P. White, S.A. Handly, and J.S. Reeves, partners trading under White, Handly, & Co. Additional defendants: James M. Dean and O.N. Black. White, Handly & Co. had received judgment against John W. Lenrox for $184.67, which was stayed by Taylor. Judgment was executed on town lot owned by Taylor. Lot was sold, and then purchased by plaintiffs for $165. Dean and Black claimed entitlement to lot. |

Reference made to a previous case W.T. Bird & wife v. D.D. Marvin, et al. in which Bird won against Brandan and other defendants in land they claimed under trust deed. This decree took 35 acres from Brandan's land. Brandan's suing T.M. Bird, widow of W.T. Bird, and Craig, sheriff, for their land and homestead to be exempted from levy and sale. They want an injunction against the sheriff to stop him from selling the land citing the homestead laws of TN. |
