Jury found Bowling not guilty of assault w/intent to kill, but guilty of assault & battery, but court arrested the judgment & discharged Bowling because the indictment was not for simple assault & battery & jury didn't convict Bowling on charge that WAS in the indictment. |

Welcker ran a mercantile firm called Joseph Welcker & Sons. Staples's husband turned over accounts, land, notes, etc. to the Welckers for money to pay her creditors. Staples then sold the property to other persons, putting the land in others' names in order to defraud his creditors. Suit seeks to recover the money from Staples. |
