View Entry | 1891 | Sarah Maxell v. W. D. Robison, admr., et al | Rutherford | Wills, Contested |
Sarah Maxwell, sister of Elvy A. Hill, dec., sued Hill's husband, A. "Abe" C. Hill, accusing him of writing the will himself as sole beneficiary of the estate. Many people involve in the suit were illiterate including Sarah and Elvy; A.C. was literate. Maxwell was destitute. Many witnesses mention Elvy's bitterness toward all members of her family but sisters Sarah and Mary, and wished that her belongings be burned rather than go to the family. |
