This case was consolidated with State v. Jeff Nelson and George Nelson. The def. are accused of stealing and killing hogs belonging to Moses Davis and Aaron Trimble. The hogs were found in a pen belonging to Dr. Sam Nelson, grandfather of George Nelson. Dr. Nelson is noted to be a lifetime physician in Rutherford County. Case file notes that several men tracked the hogs in controversy and observed two sets of human footprints, "one set belonging to a white man and one set belonging to a negro." |
