Plaintiff owned a tract of land for over fifteen years and conveyed and sold the land to Willis B. Sharp, his son-in-law, but he did not pay a consideration for the land. He then sold the land to the defendant. A deal was made to sell the land back to the plaintiff, but the defendant falsified the amount paid to Sharp for the land. Plaintiff sued for $550 difference for the land he bought back. |

Lawson would bring down the trees, producing the boards, & the lumber company old sell them. Lawson sued Lizzie Yett Cox over a note for $500. The settlement of this suit became entangled in the payments & debts of Lawson & U.S. Andes' dealings. |

Plaintiff sued for $300 damages, alleging that in September 1848 Perkins seized his bay stallion valued at $300 & has since kept it for his own use. def.. Perkins argues that at that time he was acting Deputy Sheriff of Sevier Co. & Tipton was a Justice of the Peace. He took the horse to satisfy a judgment that Hugh Bogle, admr. of M. H. Bogle, dec., had recovered against Tipton on 7 Aug. 1848. Debt was for $17.03 plus cost of suit. |

Keeler sold land to Baker who agreed to pay for the land in installments as well as help take care of Keeler who was growing old. Keeler claims Baker failed to make payments. Keeler also claims that Baker was cruel to him, laughing when he was in pain and lying to him. The case file mentions that Keeler may be senile as well as an alcoholic. Case file also notes that land doubled in value during the time of the arrangement. |

This case involves a "negro boy named David." William Randles Jr. purchased David and believed he owned him outright. However, James Ellis received a judgment for debt against William Randles, Sr. whom William Randles Jr. purchased the boy from. A levy was placed on the boy in order to satisfy the debt and he was taken from the possession on Wiliam Randles Jr. The suit was brought to dispute that and to prove rightful ownership of David. |
