The plaintiff was thrown under the automobile, which was being driven by a Negro man employed by the defendant. The defendant left the plaintiff on the ground without checking on his injuries. |

Ranson was indebted to the plaintiff in the sum of $1,543.20 plus interest and in a settlement, the defendant proposed to transfer to the plaintiff his real estate. Ranson later made a deal with Miers for a lieu on the same land for an execution of bank notes. Filed for injunction to prevent any action taken on the real estate before a settlement for the debt could be made. |

Plaintiff is the administrator of the estate of Mattie Clement (dec.). Clement bought a ticket for a train owned and operated by the defendant. During her ride, the conductor became involved in a scuffle with a colored passenger and Clement was knocked down, trampled upon, and bruised and injured by other passengers on the car. She became gravely sick, lame and diseased, dying three weeks later. Suing for negligence and damages in the sum of $17,500 for the use of Clement's daughters. |

When Leo Goodman returned he filed a petition of certiorari against the Board of Commissioners charging the illegality and invalidity of declaring the office vacant. The City of Memphis wished to be reimbursed for the salary paid to C.T. Kelly as the votes taken to put him in as Commissioner were made and void. |

In 1911, John Wesley, the deceased husband of the defendant, became a member of the Colored Knights of Pythias in Mississippi and received a policy for $600, payable to the defendant. The membership transferred when they moved to Memphis, where the endowment increased $300. Wesley died in 1916 and the plaintiff refused to pay the endowment and a judge ruled in favor of M. Weaver for $300 and the plaintiff filed for this new trial. |
