John Stephenson executed a deed of trust that conveyed land & a storehouse on Main St. between Adams and Jefferson St. along with black slaves to Anderson Henderson in 1849. This was to secure his wife Marianna & her children's financial future. It seems that Henderson sold the slaves without permission.

Walter Jones, working n the Richmond School in Memphis. Buffaloe sued, claiming $2598.20 worth of work was never paid for. J. Walter Jones went bankrupt, so Buffaloe had to sue the City, the School Board, and the insurance company that held the bond for the work. Includes published Statement of the Case.

York purchased interest of Ambrose in said business for consideration of $35,000 cash and assumed payments of existing partnership debts. York alleged that Ambrose violated agreement and had aided in the organization and financing of corporation to engage in the same line of business in Memphis under the name of Ambrose Sporting Goods Co.

The defendant contracted to sell 500 tons of good, sound cotton seed by February 1st, 1914. On December 23,1913 complainant went to inspect cotton seed to be shipped and found that it was below quality he had contracted for. Defendant told complainant he had sold the cotton seed to other parties and would not be shipping any seed to complainant. Also included are 2 booklets: 1) Petition for Certiorari and Assignment of Errors, Brief in support. 2) Defendants answer to petition of certiorari.

In February, 1914, D.L. Russell entered into a written contract with Tennessee Hoop Company to supply it with 380,000. feet of gum logs. Russell delivered and received payment for 140,857 ft. of gum logs, leaving a balance of 59,143 ft. which Russell was willing to deliver. Defendant refused delivery and payment of the final lot of gum logs due, thereby breaching the contract.
