Plaintiff: Ned Crenshaw. Case is an effort to collect $1,000 on an insurance policy on the West Tennessee Academy, which was destroyed by fire. Plaintiffs own the property on which the school sat; defendant company says the policy was made out and signed in the name of the school, not of individuals, and will not pay.

Additional defendant: Illinois Central Railroad Company. Plaintiff sued claiming he hired the railroad to bring bales of cotton from Ridgely, TN to Covington, TN. During transport there was a fire that damaged part of the load. Damages asked for were $1866.07, the difference between the undamaged values of the 50 bales of cotton compared to the sales price received for the damaged bales.

9 folders. Additional material in WT1553. Exhibit materials are photographs, postcards, & certificates. Add. defendants listed in file. Defendant is the administrator of the will of E.J. Halley (dec.). Halley died while in a sanitarium of delirium. Shortly after a document purporting to be his last will was entered by the defendant that split his estate worth approximately $250,000. The will was proven to be fraudulent as the deceased was not in sound mind and the next of kin legacy was contested.

Additional defendants: Eagle Sheet Metal Works, J. S. Patterson & Son, Massachusetts Bonding & Insurance Company. Vinton sued to stop the additional defendants listed from sued him. Amount owed was $826.00. 2 folders. Vinton hired Patterson & Sons to oversee the building of a house for him at the corner of Central Avenue and Melrose Street in Memphis. Patterson had not paid the subcontractors, so Vinton sued to stop liens from being placed on the property.
