Contract dispute over bad salmon.

Plaintiff claims he was hired by defendant to build a house for him in Mason, Tipton County, TN but the defendant did not pay him. Amount sued for was $912.82. Contract was signed in 1924.

Other defendants include Austin Myers & William M. Farrington, Pres. Of Memphis City Railroad Co. Plaintiff accuses defendants of failing to produce stock which her late husband had contracted to purchase. File includes several pages of briefs.

The contract under dispute concerns the buying and selling of cotton oil. The word "crescent" is misspelled as "cresent" throughout.

Pltf. was a barber operating at 319 Beale Ave. in Memphis. Pltf. purchased barber supplies from dfnt. and payment was to be made in installments. Pltf. took gravely ill and during this delirium was forced to sign a new contract. Pltf. would like new contract made and void. Oversize exhibits in WT OV 6.

This is the plaintiff's brief for the Court of Civil Appeals in Jackson. There are no other case files.

Additional defendant: Illinois Central Railroad Company. Plaintiff sued claiming he hired the railroad to bring bales of cotton from Ridgely, TN to Covington, TN. During transport there was a fire that damaged part of the load. Damages asked for were $1866.07, the difference between the undamaged values of the 50 bales of cotton compared to the sales price received for the damaged bales.

Barker Construction Co., Inc.; Chickasaw Hotel Co., Inc.; Bank of Commerce & Trust Co., Inc.; Central Trust Co. of New York, Inc. Failure to deliver materials used in construction of properties. Court decision to be appealed to the Tennessee Supreme Court, Jackson. Case file is in two folders.

Co-defendant is Mrs. R. M. Jones. The property in question is a piano purchased by Mrs. Jones from the Hollenberg Music Co. Issues include her ownership of the piano separate from her husband, her husband's assumption of the loan after a period of time, Hollenberg's tearing up of the original contract and signing of a new one, and the fact that the piano was not made of walnut, as Mrs. Jones had been informed by the salesman. Co-defendant: Rebecca S. Lea. Defendants claim that the plaintiffs neglected to remove a wall they had contracted to take out before defendant company began work on their building, and that they had another construction project going on at the same time which interfered with their work. Additional Defendant: E. S. Mead. The defendants rented a derrick boat, which later sunk, from the plaintiff. The issue was on whom did the loss fall in terms of insurance. Page count does not include published materials.

Dispute over the alleged sale of stock, and the alleged value of stock, in the sum of $6,077.50 and interest. Investments of H. J. Shaw, dec. 1905. A plat map of the disputed properties is included in this case file, properties of the Cole Manufacturing Co., William I. Cole, President of company, dec. 11 Oct. 1909, Shaw was also shareholder of this company.
