Charles Eaton was employed by E.A. Guilfoyle and Company for several years and both parties agreed to a new contract of employment terms with a cut in salary for Eaton beginning July 1, 1921. However, by the end of July, Eaton refused to take a salary cut. Eaton claims he is entitled to the full salary for the month of July.

In July, 1921 Ethel Melton contracted to purchase what was known as "Granville Place" from Mrs. Lyda T. Myers, admr. Of deceased W. G. Myers. In July,1922, she conveyed this property to National City Bank of Memphis. The bank and Planters Realty Co. have been in possession of the property since Sept. 1922 and have put a rental value on it of $250.00. The Bank failed to carry out its contract as to the land in MS. Mrs. Melton states he has never received a deed for possession of this land.

Co-defendant is Mrs. R. M. Jones. The property in question is a piano purchased by Mrs. Jones from the Hollenberg Music Co. Issues include her ownership of the piano separate from her husband, her husband's assumption of the loan after a period of time, Hollenberg's tearing up of the original contract and signing of a new one, and the fact that the piano was not made of walnut, as Mrs. Jones had been informed by the salesman.
