Thomas Owen, formerly a resident of Georgia in 1783 registered 5000 acres of land in Tennessee with the land office in North Carolina, paying in full. Owen died, leaving a will, & the family discovered no legally registered grant or land deed. Bullock settled on the land, as did other defendants. McKenzie made claim to the land suing the other occupants and claimants. |

Robertson held notes from Gleaves, which Gleaves tried to dismiss with bank notes issued by the Insurance Company of Lexington Kentucky. The insurance company's solvency came into question, thereby devaluing the notes. Roberts sued Gleaves accusing him of presenting fraudulent payment. |
