Cornelius Drake entered a land grant to the surveyor general for land granted him for military service. After registration, Drake failed to pay taxes on the land. Sappington purchased 150 acres of this land. Cornelius died, leaving the remainder of the land to John M. Drake. White lived on the property, & claimed Cornelius sold him the land before he died. Sappington sued to get him to give up the claim and move off the land. |
