Before he died, Thomas Hopkins purchased 500 acres from William B. Lewis, exe. Of William L. Lewis' dec. estate. The transaction was paid for, but no title was ever issued to Hopkins, or his heirs. The sheriff of Rhea county sold the land to Locke, not knowing it was already sold to Hopkins. Locke died intestate. Hopkins' heirs sued Locke's estate to recover the land. |
