Wilson charged with wearing a concealed weapon (a Bowie knife) under his clothes. Jury found him guilty, but judgment arrested for some fault in the indictment record & State appealed to Supreme Court. When warrant issued to apprehend Wilson & bring him before Supreme Court, he could not be found & Sheriff reported he was then (Sep 1851) confined in Meigs County jail for house burning. |

Bowling was accused of assaulting John Enox with a club w/intent to kill hiim. Jury found Bowling not guilty of assault w/intent to kill, but guilty of assault & battery, but court arrested the judgment & discharged Bowling because the indictment was not for simple assault & battery & jury didn't convict Bowling on charge that WAS in the indictment. |
