In previous suit, judgment was obtained in favor of Glover for a $800 note written by plaintiffs for the sum of $142.72. Plaintiffs want an injunction restraining Sells, the sheriff, from levying John R. Morrell's land to satisfy judgment and for the note to be declared void and illegal. |

Fain sued Harr for $567.50 plus interest due him by unpaid note and from him unjustly detained to his damage $1000. Defendant claimed note was executed for Confederate treasury notes, and therefore, he does not have to pay. Court filed in favor of plaintiff for $666.81 and costs of suit. Defendant appealed. |

Anderson had bought a tract 300 acres from James D. Rhea in 1862. Talbot had obtained a judgment against William G. Rutledge and Rhea, his surety. A tract of 113 acres was levied and sold to Talbot, and Anderson charged that said tract was part and parcel of the tract sold to him by Rhea three years before. |

Parties were previously engaged in a joint purchase for profit of several lots of land, being jointly liable to one Jesse Allison for $200 by note. Plaintiff paid his part of the debt, but the defendant's half is still outstanding along with another note for $60 in the hands of one James King, which the plaintiff was security on for the defendant. |

Rogers sued McKenzie to recover a 9 year old bay horse that was seized by David Miller under the authority of U.S. Marshall and sold to McKenzie. Court ruled in favor of defendant for possession of the horse. |

Womack paid defendant to have several boxes of goods, valued at $18,000, delivered from Prospect Depot in Prince Edwards County Virginia to Bristol, Tennessee. Womack claims that defendant failed to deliver the boxes. Defendant claims the boxes were lost when the United States military burned the depot building that the boxes were stored in as an act of War against the Confederate States. |

Sarah, Thomas Vincent's second wife had 3 children w/ him, & 2 from a prior marriage. She was to receive a 1 year sustenance pay to feed & clothe her children + dower. New commissioners were appointed, leaving no record of this agreement, forcing her to file for benefits again. Sarah Vincent's widow support was meager, & she had to borrow money. Additional plaintiffs: William Drake and William Browder. Additional defendant: W.G. Butler. Plaintiffs sued Butler over a bond-wanting defendants to be restrained from disposing of it or collecting on it and the court to declare bond void. Apparently the bond was issued over the sale of land by the plaintiffs to William F. Butler for $159 to be void and returned to plaintiffs if the sale was found to be illegal, which it was found to be but Butler refused to return it. |

T. F. Wood and Curtice Euans sued for writs of attachment and injunction against Hamilton. Plaintiffs and defendant had entered into agreement in which plaintiffs would furnish money to defendant to collect and slaughter hogs. Hamilton bought 275 hogs for $6981.87. Account was uncertain between parties and plaintiffs seeking a settlement with Hamilton who they believed was indebted to them. |
