Hogan and Wolfe in case over Daniel Crawley's estate won against Crawley's heirs to sell lands to pay debts. Greer thought he had bought 583 acres for $1250 when he only bought about 316 acres. Greer wants the judge to stop defendants from collecting money until title of land is made full and complete, and not pay the $2.14 an acre for 268 acres for which plaintiffs did not have title for. |

In 1869 Brown conveyed by deed to E. F. Mahone a tract of land in White County. The court decreed that the deed by Mahone to Oakes was voided for fraud and awarded the plaintiff $4000. The court also decreed that if the debt was not paid within 60 days land would be sold at public auction. |

Carter (illiterate) sold to Anderson 2 tracts of land totaling 200 acres on waters of Roaring Fork of Lick Creek, for $9,000 (w/premium for any part pd in gold or silver). Anderson pd in gold, greenbacks & note. Dispute arose because deed contained third tract Carter didn't intend to sell. Carter had procured services of Milligan (TN Supreme Court judge) to prepare deed; didn't notice mistake b/c he was illiterate. Land referred to as "old Ben Anderson farm." Includes deposition of Judge Milligan. |

During his lifetime, the deceased purchased of the defendant six acres of land for $12,000, which the plaintiffs charge was paid in full. After his death, the defendant's still claimed to own the land and demanded money from the plaintiffs, all of whom were under legal age without a guardian. |
