Sanders, as executor of Ezekiel Sanders sold 268 acres of land in Lincoln County to John S. Tucker, who used Tillman Wells & William Dyer as securities. The land was sold to settle a judgement & Dyer bought the land, paying in notes. Dyer then made a deed of trust to W. R. Bledsoe, levying personal property, in order to pay a debt to D. J. Hines. Dyer was accused of transferring land to his son to avoid paying debts owed. See additional documentation in box MT 16. |

Martha Reeves was a minor when her father H. H. Reeves was assigned as her regular guardian in 1854. In 1860 he obtained a lot in trust for Martha for $600, then soon after he became insolvent possessing $1500-$2000 of real estate he held for Martha. When Martha was of age, H. H. had died & Martha sued to recover the value of the real estate. |
